Programmes

Three rooms, one long day

From six months to four years, with the same opening hours across all three groups. Children move up when they are ready for the next room, which we agree with you rather than announce.

6 – 18 months

Infant Care

One named carer looks after your baby every day, keeps to the feeding and nap times you set at home, and writes down how each one went.

  • Your own feeding and bottle routine, followed exactly
  • Cots in a separate quiet room, nap times logged
  • Tummy time, crawling space and safe climbing
  • Songs and naming games in Kiswahili and English
  • A written daily note at pick-up

18 months – 3 years

Toddler Group

The year children start doing things for themselves. We give them the time and the low shelves to try, and we help with the parts that are still hard.

  • Toilet training at your child's pace, in step with home
  • Water, sand, dough and paint every day
  • Learning to eat, wash hands and tidy up independently
  • Short group story and song circles
  • Outdoor play morning and afternoon

3 – 4 years

Pre-Primary 1

The CBC pre-primary year, taught the way it was designed: through activity, conversation and play rather than worksheets.

  • The five CBC learning areas, planned termly
  • Letter and number sense through games and building
  • Kiswahili and English used side by side
  • Observation records shared with you each term
  • Getting ready for Grade 1 without rushing it

  • Breakfast, hot lunch and two snacks, cooked on site
  • All learning materials, art supplies and books
  • Two outdoor sessions a day in the shaded garden
  • A daily written note for children under three
  • A termly observation record and a conversation about it
  • Paediatric first aid cover on site all day

Choosing your hours

Sessions you can mix around your week

Places are booked by the session rather than the hour, so you always know what you are paying for. Extra days can be added when there is space — just ask the day before.

Full day

7.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Breakfast, lunch, both snacks and rest time included. The option most working parents take.

Morning session

7.30am to 12.30pm, finishing after lunch. Covers circle time, choosing time and the morning garden slot — the busiest part of the day.

Afternoon session

12.30pm to 5.30pm, starting with rest. Useful for children easing in gradually, or for families who only need cover late in the day.

Saturday mornings

9.00am to 2.00pm, booked in advance. A smaller mixed-age group with a quieter, more open-ended session.

Getting a place

Four steps, usually inside a fortnight

First

Come and look round

During the day, with the children here. Bring your child if you can — how they respond to the room tells you more than we can.

Then

We confirm a place and a start date

If the room you need is full, we will say so and give you a realistic wait rather than a maybe.

Next

Enrolment forms and a settling plan

Health details, allergies, who may collect, and your child's current routine at home so we can match it.

Finally

A short first week

Building from a couple of hours to a full day, at whatever pace your child sets.

Ask about a place

Tell us your child's age and when you would like to start. We reply within one working day, and we will always tell you honestly if a room is full.

A phone number or an email is enough — both is easiest.

Visits happen during the day, while the children are here, so you see the centre as it really runs. No appointment needed before 4pm, though a call ahead means someone is free to walk you round.
