Three rooms, three age bands

Where your child would go

Children move up when they are ready, not on a birthday. Each room has its own staff, its own rhythm and its own outdoor slot, so a six-month-old is never in the middle of a four-year-old's game.

6 – 18 months

Infant Care

One named carer looks after your baby every day, keeps to the feeding and nap times you set at home, and writes down how each one went.

Your own feeding and bottle routine, followed exactly

Toddler Group

The year children start doing things for themselves. We give them the time and the low shelves to try, and we help with the parts that are still hard.

Toilet training at your child's pace, in step with home
Water, sand, dough and paint every day
Learning to eat, wash hands and tidy up independently
Short group story and song circles

3 – 4 years

Pre-Primary 1

The CBC pre-primary year, taught the way it was designed: through activity, conversation and play rather than worksheets.

What you are actually choosing

The things parents ask about first

The same faces every day

Each child has a named carer who greets them at the gate and hands them back at pick-up. Staff stay with their group for the whole year rather than rotating.

Sign-in, and only you sign out

One gate, staffed all day. Children are released only to the people you name on the enrolment form, and we will ask for ID until we know them.

CBC, taught as it was designed

Competencies are built through building, sorting, talking and playing. Worksheets come later, in Grade 1, where they belong.

Food cooked here

A hot lunch and two snacks, prepared on site to a menu we publish each week. Allergies and home diets are recorded and followed without fuss.

Outside, twice a day

A shaded garden with sand, water and things to climb. Every group gets a morning and an afternoon slot, and rain is not a reason to stay in.

You hear how the day went

Feeds, naps, nappies and moods are written down for the under-threes. Older children come home with something they made and a sentence about why.

A weekday, start to finish

What happens between drop-off and pick-up

Times shift with the babies, who set their own schedule. This is the shape of the day for the toddler and pre-primary rooms.

7.30am

Gate opens

Drop-off runs to 8.30. Children are signed in, hands washed, and settled with a quiet activity until everyone has arrived.

8.30am

Breakfast

Porridge and fruit at the table, together. Toddlers serve themselves from a small jug — spills included.

9.15am

Circle and the day's theme

Greeting song, the weather, counting who is here. Then the week's theme is introduced through a story or an object to pass around.

9.45am

Choosing time

Blocks, water, dough, painting, the book corner. Staff sit at the activities rather than watching from the edge.

10.45am

Outside

Sand, climbing, ride-ons and running. Sun hats on, and a shaded corner for anyone who wants quiet.

12.00pm

Lunch

A hot meal cooked in our kitchen. Children clear their own plates when they are able.

12.45pm

Rest

Mats down, curtains drawn, one carer stays in the room. Children who no longer sleep look at books instead.

2.30pm

Snack and small groups

Fruit, then focused work in small groups: language games for the toddlers, number and letter play for pre-primary.

3.30pm

Outside again

The second garden slot, and the one most children remember when you ask them about their day.

4.30pm

Winding down

Tidying up, a last story, and getting bags together so nothing goes home in the wrong one.

5.30pm

Gate closes

Pick-up from 4pm onwards. Tell us if you are running late — it is fine, we just like to be able to say so to your child.

Visits happen during the day, while the children are here, so you see the centre as it really runs. No appointment needed before 4pm, though a call ahead means someone is free to walk you round.
